Rederiet Nielsen & Bresling A/S was founded on the 11th of May 1960 by the present owners Captain Axel H. Nielsen and Poul Bresling. They both had a career with the shipping company J. Lauritzen A/S for 14 years before they founded their own shipping company.  In September 1960 Rederiet Nielsen & Bresling A/S took delivery of their first coaster "Jytte Bres", a singledecker of 475 tdw. One and a half year later the two 684 tdw vessels "Astrid Bres" and "Lone Bres" were built. In 1972 the fleet consisted of 15 own vessels and 5 timecharter vessels.  The 4.750 tdw. coaster "Jytte Bres" was delivered to Rederiet Nielsen & Bresling A/S in November 1999 (sold August 2011) and in February 2000 the sister vessel "Lone Bres" was delivered from Damen Shipyard in Holland. Rederiet Nielsen & Bresling A/S has signed up with the Dutch Bodewes Shipyards Group for three vessels of 3.750 tdw. The first of the three newbuildings was delivered in October 2006 the second was delivered in January 2007 and the last was delivered in October 2007. |
